“I’ve always thought you’ve got to believe in luck to get it.” –Victoria Holt
Every day, I fit in time to give thanks for the abundance in my life; but this morning, I woke up feeling exceptionally grateful and lucky. I’m most thankful for the people in my life, the opportunities afforded to me, and the experiences I’ve stumbled upon–both purposely and by accident.
My partner’s credo “celebrate the good life” has helped form this perspective, so much so that I’ve taken that credo on as my own. It manifests itself in so many ways, and today I had the good fortune of seeing it in action ten-fold…literally!
Rewind back to last summer when we were only just beginning our adventures in voiceover. One of my pals, Selinda, who had begun her VO training at the same time, found pennies everywhere! To her, it was and remains the universe’s positive sign of great things to come in voice over.
Of course, I adopted Selinda’s outlook. It reminded me of high school and college when I collected pennies for a similar reason: good luck for golf competitions and softball and basketball games. I would see one, and while picking it up, simultaneously say a little prayer: “See a penny, pick it up, all season long, have good luck.” I say the same prayer every time I pick up a penny for voice over. And today, I got to say it 10 times!
Yep, I woke up with gratitude for the greatness in my life and Victoria Holt’s perspective on luck, which resonates with my approach to manifesting goodness, i.e., what you put into the universe comes back to you. Not even an hour later, I exited a BART station in downtown San Francisco and stumbled upon 10 pennies! Ten!
I grinned from ear to ear…and lined up a second audition for tomorrow!
