Meghan Weimer’s Commercial Voiceover Demo 2

It’s been a while since I last posted the latest and greatest tales from my route to the booth. Not to worry: it’s not for lack of words!

Folks, I am living the dream! Literally! Since I started documenting this journey last January, I’ve been submitting to and booking on-camera, print, and voice-over work.

Of course, I am most elated about the VO. It makes me feel like a kid who has just noticed that Santa drank the milk and ate the cookies on Christmas morning!

Although I’ve got a two-week getaway planned for the latter half of July, I intend to regularly publish material as of July. I’ll kick things off by providing a status update on my 10 New Year Resolutions for 2011. And in addition to experiences a la Meghan, I’ve got more Spotlights (like the one with Roxanne Wolff) and handfuls of great resources for you in the queue.

For now, I’ll leave you with my newly minted commercial voiceover demo :D. I worked on it with Elaine Clark over at Voice One in San Francisco this past Friday. I haven’t quite found the words to express what that moment meant to me, but it was a big one.

So, without further ado:

Meghan Weimer's Commercial Voiceover Demo

What do you think? Sound off here–I can take it 🙂 I’d love to hear your demos, too.

Hey Meghan! Great job on the demo…you sound amazing. I did mine in April and it’s entirely different than yours (well, duh!). Elaine was able to pull the good stuff from each of us that makes our voices stand out. My journey has been similar to yours. Lots of non-voice gigs, or should I say auditions!

    All the best,
    Suzanne

Thanks, Suzanne! Elaine is good at pulling stuff out (even when some of us are less compliant!) I asked her if I could just take her to VO auditions with me 🙂 I’d like to have more range already, but I know that it will come as I develop my craft. This demo is definitely a “what you hear is what you get,” and I’m pretty darn happy with it.

Congrats on your demo! I would love to hear it… Off to the database, I go…unless you want to post it here… 🙂
